At Sunset, we view the successful preparation of quality technical publications as a specialist field that requires a team of trained and experienced staff. Clarity of the message and accuracy are equally important. Technical publications often require conformance to industry or editorial standards, and always require a high degree of accuracy. They may contain complex material, be quite lengthy and/or contain scientific, mathematical or financial data. These publications often contain graphs, charts and complex illustrations, or rely heavily on images being correctly integrated with written text.

Product catalogues

Sunset Publishing Services has the broad range of skills to produce product catalogues from concept through to print, including the ability to professionally photograph product ranges. Accuracy and correct interpretation of material ensures correct groupings of products and matching of text to associated images.

Owner/user manuals

We were asked by an offshore boat manufacturer to produce owner manuals for six of their luxury ocean cruisers. This entailed editing and/or re-writing the instructions, taking photos where necessary, and designing the series based on an easy-to-read and attractive design.

Training manuals

Sunset Publishing Services has been responsible for preparing high-quality training manuals for various organisations, including the First Aid and Emergency Care manual which was a joint winner in the TAFE and Vocational Education category at the 2005 Australian Awards for Excellence in Educational Publishing.

These training manuals require care and attention to ensure that descriptive text is positioned appropriately with diagrams and photographs to maximise the learning experience.

We understand that it takes time to source the final content for these publications, but we are very experienced in managing disjointed workflows while working to agreed timelines. For us, this is normal! Also, we understand that the finished product often has last-minute changes.
